Sharlyn Joyce (Cowan) Shepard was born November 17, 1948 at Watonga Municipal Hospital to Hubert and Tincy Cowan and passed away April 3, 2018 at the age of sixtynine. She was a resident of Blaine County, OK, for fortyeight years, Kansas for twenty years, and New Jersey for two years. She had careers in retail, banking and the mortgage industry. She graduated from Watonga High School in 1966. After graduation, she attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She married Paul Meier in 1967. They had two children, Scot Meier and Marsha (Meier) Bukowski. She married James Shepard in 2001. She was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Cowan and her husband, James Shepard. She is survived by her two children, her mother, Tincy Cowan, her sister, Karlea (Cowan) Ewald, her brother David Cowan, and her granddaughters Bethaney (Meier) Whitson and Brooklyn Meier. Funeral services for Sharlyn will be held Sunday, April 8th at 2:00 p.m at the Christian Church in Watonga with Rev. Adam Lovitt officiating. Burial will follow at the Watonga I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
