William Lee "Bill" Christensen was born March 16, 1938 to Dalbert William and Nola Ann (Russell) Christensen in Thomas, OK. He passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon, OK at the age of 79. Bill graduated from Thomas High School where he was a half back for the Thomas Terrier Football Team that won the State Title three years in a row. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Southwestern State University in Weatherford. Bill was united in marriage to Yvonne Milligan December 21, 1962 in Watonga. They lived in the Geary area where Bill farmed and ranched. He taught and coached at Watonga and Geary Public Schools. Bill loved to farm and work, but never missed a chance to attend his children and grandchildren's school activities. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Geary. Bill was always short and sweet, his "no" meant no and his "yes" meant yes. Bill was a great story teller and loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dalbert and Nola Ann Christensen, one sister, Colleen Alyce Frans, and one brother, James Dalbert Christensen. Survivors include his wife Yvonne Christensen of the home, Geary; three children, Bret Christensen and his wife Diane of Geary, Lori Woodward and her husband George of Calgary, Canada, and Kristyn Hightower and her husband Brian of Watonga; four grandchildren, Brooke Cowan and her husband Clayton, and Paige Christensen all of Geary, Noah and Adalyn Hightower both of Watonga; one great-grandchild, Londyn Davidson; one sister, Liane Stubbs and her husband Thurman of Hydro; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
