Doyle Eugene Hoffman

1936~2017 

Doyle Eugene Hoffman, 80, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Okeene, OK. Doyle was born at Calumet, OK to Edward and Molly (Leis) Hoffman. Doyle was one of nine children. He grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton High School with the class of 1955. Doyle was drafted into the Army and served two years before being honorably discharged in 1961.

Doyle and Patricia Smith were united in marriage on January 29, 1958, and to this union two children were born, a son, Shannon Hoffman and a daughter, Shari Holsapple. Doyle worked at U.S. Gypsum for several years. He then worked as the assistant manager for Wheeler Brothers Grain Co. and later, he took a job working for Blaine County in the assessors office where he was the Field Appraiser for 23 years. He retired from the court house in April of 2010.

Doyle enjoyed watching football, basketball and he loved to see the OU Sooners win! Doyle was dedicated to the Lord and reading his bible. He loved his grandchildren dearly and wanted to be with them as much as possible. He loved to garden and be outdoors.

Doyle is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pat of the home in Canton, OK; son, Shannon Hoffman and wife Sarah of Canton, OK; daughter, Shari Holsapple and husband Steve of Oakwood, OK; one sister, Dorothy Campbell and husband Jim of Chester, OK; one brother, Bill “Larry” Hoffman of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren Jordan Holsapple, Jamie Holsapple, Emma Hoffman, Hannah Hoffman and Coby Moody; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held at Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Canton Christian Church with Pastor Glen Blood and Steve Driskill officiating. Interment followed at Canton Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Canton Christian Church or the Bride of Christ Fellowship through the funeral home at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724.
